DIY Book Gift: Personal Touches for Readers

To the surprise of no one, I am a reader. I saw this cute book wrapping idea on Pinterest. It was being marketed for libraries or book stores, but thought it would be PERFECT for Christmas gifts.

Pick a book you LOVE. If you know me, you know I am a sucker for anything Sally Clarkson, but the entire Clarkson family has wonderful books ranging in topics. Of course any fictional or fun book you like could work too. You can read some of my other favs over at What I’ve Been Reading and What’s On My Reading List. Before I wrapped I wrote a note on the inside.

Below is the video I watched to help guide me through wrapping. Using a patterned paper like I did was really hard. So be warned when picking out your paper.

After getting my book wrapped, I added 2 of my favorite tea bags. A sweet friend of mine shared one of her tea bags with me and I was immediately obsessed. I get the Canola Flower & Apricot. It tastes as good as it smells, and only needs a sprinkle of sugar. It is soooooo good.

I got a perfect pack of Mr. Pen 6 highlighters and 6 pens that coordinate. I am also ridiculous about sharing translucent sticky notes. They are a GAME changer whether you are taking notes in a book, Bible study, etc…. Everyone should have some.

I also tucked in a sticker. I am a typical 90s kid. I have a few friends I often trade stickers with. Some of my favorite small business, sticker people:
Joy Mark Studio
A Fine Quotation
Her Hearts Co
Sweet Sequels

The nice thing is, it’s a complete gift that has real meaning, without completely breaking the bank. This is mostly determined by the price of the book that you purchase, but generally, you can do this gift for under $25. If you’re feeling a little extra, you can always include a mug to go along with those tea bags, or an extra cozy pair of socks, a fuzzy blanket, etc….

What would you include in your book gift!?
