Book Kits For Family Read Aloud Time

Is this an excuse to use my new pictures done by Abby with All the Happy Creative Co? Kind of. Have I also had this post planned for a few weeks now? Also yes.

Read alouds tend to be a staple in most homeschool families. Whether it’s a way to bring older independent kids back around for some family time, or reading slightly higher level works with littles, read alouds have a wonderful place in any homeschool home.

I found that with my littles, it was hard to keep them engaged. Not just while reading, but in general. How do I keep them IN the book when we’re not at a place to really do worksheets, and I don’t really WANT family read alouds to be work. I want bringing the story to life without serious work. So I started thinking. And just like If You Give a Dog a Donut, I started putting some “kits” together, if you will. These are flexible depending on the ages of your children and how much or little you want to incorporate!

To the surprise of no one, this then became a game for me and I needed to make a bunch of these little plans!

Whether you have a voracious 4 year old ready to run wild in the kitchen (with proper supervision and safety precautions of course), or a too-cool-for-school 10 year old, these little kits make it easy for you to pick, purchase, and implement for everyone to get involved and enjoy!

What are some book kits you’d like to see!?
