Do your children have a bajillion stuffies? Want to do some “school” without doing school? Need an activity that will keep them busy for a while. I got you.
Home Zoo.
This isn’t the first time we’ve done this, but we level up every time. I created animal signs, just like at the real zoo, for us to make to go along with our cardboard zoo exhibits. Each page has 2 signs. We used our favorite animal book resources to look up the animals and their info. This is a GREAT opportunity to work on how to use index, glossaries, and table of contents! Of course a little handwriting and copy work never hurt!
Habitats: Discover Earth’s Precious Wild Places, and Zoology: Inside the Secret World of Animals, are our 2 favorites.
Collect your stuffies, get your art supplies out, and be as extra as you want while creating your habitats! Blankets, pillows, and whatever else creative minds can come up with! Need some inspo? We love various Secrets of the Zoo, and BTS zoo shows, many of which are on Animal Planet or Nat Geo, and can be found between Disney+ and Discovery+.
